Please tell me how to copy files to a cd. I can backup/copy to a floppy, but
when I try to backup to a cd, I get a message stating that I should insert a
cd in the drive when a cd is already in the drive. I have XP Home.

Thanks, and please forgive my ignorance.

Windows Backup Does Not Back Up to CD-R, CD-RW, or DVD-R Devices

Rather than putting a CD in the drive prior to the burn, wait for the system
to ask for it. I have seen computers eject the CD and then say there is no
CD in the drive. Wait for it to ask.

You probably need a software to BURN the data onto the CD. Give Nero or
Roxio a try. They are the two very good brands. Also, make sure you are
using the right type of CDs. CD-R and CD-RW are totally different from
each other and your drive might not support that latter.
