copying pictures to CD

We are trying to copy pictures from "my Pictures" on to a
CD. Right now the only thing on the CD is one song. It
now shows as an audio cd. Once you put a song on a CD
can you only put songs on it? 2. When I try to copy
pictures onto CD is says we can't as it's a read only?
egad where are those simple prompts like in the
directions.
 
You need to insert a blank CD or a CD with photos previously saved on it.
Will not work on a CD with music on it.
