I am a uniqe problem. I use a server to store and publish my pages. I have
my server divided up into several folders for different Sites. What I do is
design the initial page, which I use as a foundation to make the rest of my
pages. Once i make my initial main page, I copy it by using Ctrl-c and then
paste a copy elsewhere. I use this copy to make into another page. The
problem I am having is that when i modify the copy the changes apply to the
original (which I would like to stay the way it was). My changes to one page
seem to apply to the original as well. What Can I do to avoid this! ?

Thanks

I have come up with a work around to this problem. I have been opening the
copy page and then right click on the frame i want to change and then hit
frame properties and update the web address to reflect the copy (as the
original link is stil there)...isnt there anything easier?

Sounds like you are using Frames - don't copy the frameset, just create
new pages. One of the frames in the frameset will have navigation -
this will be edited by editing that frame in the frameset.

Better still - don't use frames, just design a single page and use that
as a template the same way you have been using your frameset page. Less
complication, less problems for you and for your users.

If using FP2003, look at Dynamic Web Templates.

Greg, to make a template as Ron suggests, open the page and immediately save
it with a new name. Then the old page stays the same, and all your changes
are on the new page.
Also, Ron is right that you should consider Dynamic Web Templates--they're
great! FrontPage menus and Help tell you all you need to know. Good luck! --
