Hi, I have made a movie with pictures (not video) and music. When I try to
copy it to a c.d it says its doing all of that, but when I try to play it in
my DVD player, nothing comes up. No picture or sound happening. Why could
this be? Basically, I just want to put all my photos, which are in 'my
pictures' on to a CDR with music and be able to play it on my DVD player and
see it from the T.V. It all plays fine on my computer but I can't seem to
get it onto a disc. Help....Thanks

So is that the case for all movies etc made on movie maker? Can you only
play it back on a computer? Thanks Jim

First you would save your project to a
folder on your hard drive as a movie...
File / Save Movie File...or type...Ctrl+P.

Next...you need to import the completed
..wmv or .avi movie file into a software
program that will create a VCD. Most
DVD players will play a VCD...check
the manual for your DVD player for
compatibility. A VCD is a Video Disk
created on a CD instead of a DVD.

I've had success with a program called
'InterVideo WinDVD Creator'...there are
many others...Nero...for example is the
favorite choice of many users.

Windows Movie Maker will create a WMV file which is fine for watching on a
computer. But if you want to view your movie on TV you will have to use some
third party software to change the WMV file into a VCD. I use SONIC My DVD
but any software that burns DVDs should be able to create a VCD. You import
yhe WMV file and then select the create VCD option. Also check your DVD
manual - it should list the files that it can play and it should include VCD
1 and VCD 2 file types. Windowns Media Player will not do this for you .

I repeat, many DVD players used for your TV will not play a Video CD.
The WARNING! in the manual for mine says "Video CD(Never play back,
otherwise malfunction may result.)

Not a big deal...if the VCD is not recognized, just eject it.
And besides...most DVD players will play a VCD.

No that isn't the case.
Actually it is rare for a DVD player to not play a VCD.
What you made wasn't a VCD though it was a "Data CD" with a video file on it
and DVD players won't play a video file.
You need to use a DVD Authoring program to create a VCD (Video Compact Disc)
there's a list of popular ones on my website in the "DVD Creation" section.
