Copying Movie DVD's

Is it possible to copy a DVD down to your system or at the very least be able
to edit the movie via Movie Maker?
 
I guess that I didn't explain this problem properly. The DVD I'm having
problems loading dow is a commerical movie (Saving Private Ryan). I can't get
either media player 10 or movie maker to load the DVD to my "C" drive. From
all appearences that is where (or someplace on the system) it needs to be for
Movie Maker to get to it.
