copying images to CD-R

I am trying to sopy images from my computer to a CD-R. I follow the
instructions as they appear on the screen using windows xp and then at the
end of the process I get a command saying 'Cannot complete the CD writing
izard. THere was an error in the writing process'.

I have tried this severaltimes using a new CD each time but again the same
message appears. I am not sure whether there is a problem with the settings
on my computer? I have read a lot of articles on the XP forum which seem
helpful but complicated. I am sure my problem is quite basic. I keep reading
about Live File System Format - and was thinking that perhaps my computer
does not have this option switched on?

unlike cd-rw where you
can write to it a number of times
before burning.

cd-R (emphasizing the "R")
is a "one time" write.

also, to make matters
worst is that the ejecting
cd can burn the cd, even
though there is no data
on it.

basically, windows allows
you to build a batch of files
that you want to send to
the cd. the batch can be
modified, files deleted,
duplicated, etc.

then when you are satisfied
with your batch, all of the
batch will be sent to the cd
and burned in a single shot.

unfortunately, if any of those
cd's were previously
inserted into the drive then
ejected afterwards, then it
is likely they were burned
and nothing can be transferred
onto them anymore.

so check the drive properties and
uncheck the auto eject option.

also, i would suggest to
build your batch file with
the files you want on the
cd drive "but" make sure there
is no cd in the drive.

then when your absolutely
satisfied with your batch of files
"then" insert a blank cd-r into the drive
and burn the data to it.

Why not download CDBurnerXP Pro or similar CD/DVD burning freeware which
works much better than the XP program?
Look on Google to find it. Hope this helps.
