Hi I wish to copy over files from one drive to the other

it is around 350 - 400gigabytes of data
should I copy it over using windows?

Or would it be quicker to use Norton Ghost?

What do you all think?

Just use windows for what it's worth, it's going to take a little bit of time either way (1.5 hours perhaps?). :)

cool any difference in speed?

I was thinking I could do it folder by folder just to be safe

the other point is it's sata to sata so norton ghost might not detect sata drives?

Really no point in using Ghost, just do a file transfer.

And data will only travel at a certain maximum speed down a given bus path :)

windows xp it is then!

Sata to Sata both sata one on the motherboard but sata 2 hard drives
hope that makes sense

should be faster than IDE!

351 gb all in all

copying it over as I type

approx 130-150 minutes

psd99 holds his breath!

I hope to wake up to it all copied but I dread I will get one of those "Do you want to copy read only" question somewhere very soon! Then it will stop copying untill I click yes!

Crude method I had to use once was to jam the enter key on the keyboard down... that was for scandisk asking to fix bad clusters, I swear I would have been there for several days if I hadn't! (Disclaimer: Please no-one do this if you value your keyboard...)
