Copying from Filtered Data

This is a simple user operation question.

I want to apply an AutoFilter to a set of data, then copy the rows that
apply to the filter and paste them to a new sheet. However, when I simply
perfrom a copy , the entire unfiltered selected range gets put on the
clipboard. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks
John

Hit the F5 key (the GoTo key), click on the Special button. Select
"Visible cells only". Copy and paste. Otto

Hi johndog!!

Try using Ctrl and *. This will select the range of cells your cursor is in
and expand the range to till there is a blank row and column surrounding it.
Copy and paste to a new sheet.

Andy.

Excel's behavior changed between xl95 and xl97. In xl95, you still needed to
explicitly select the visible cells.

I'm not sure what you mean about VBA being different. It sure seems to ignore
the hidden rows. (tested in xl2002.)

You are right. I'm not sure why I said VBA was different either.
