copying films from dvd

I am new to all of this, I havent had my pc very long, I
bought it on the intensions of recording dvd's to disk,
but I cant seem to do it, I can copy music but not films,
I have a dvd writer and cd writer, could some one please
help me!!

Here's a great free tool to do the job, with links to instructions:

If you're backing up a single-layer DVD you can have DVD Decrypter rip an
ISO of the entire disc- menus, special features and all, and then have DVD
Decrypter burn the image to a blank DVD.

Hello, You need to have a dvd ripper program to back up
your dvd's. Super dvd ripper is a free trial program
which lets you rip 9 movies before purchasing. It only
rips to cd's not to dvds (takes 3 cd for one movie) I
think dvd x copy lets you back up your dvd's to dvd. Hope

DVD X Copy is a really easy to use program, the only thing
is it isnt free! Here is the website for more info
