I wish to copy a large file to a re-writable CD Rom as it
is too big for a floppy. My problem is that once the
file has been copied onto the CD it becomes a read-only
file. (The original file on my C drive stays as normal)
I want to be able to add to the file on CD Rom...as I
would be able to do on a floppy....how can I do this is
the file is read-only...how do I remove the read only bit.

All files recorded to a CD will be "read only". If you wish to make
changes to that file, copy it back to your hard drive, open it, make the
desired changes and record it back to the CD.

Use a packet writing (UDF) software application. Your CD-RW disk then is
treated like a floppy disk and you can write to it many times.
