How do I copy my presentation onto a cd with media
clips? When I put the presentation and clip onto a cd it
can't find the clip when I play the presentation. I
don't want to have to copy the files onto the computer I
need to play the presentation on. I would like to play
the presentation from the Cd by just clicking on it. I
am inserting the media file as through windows media
player.

Put the media clip in the file with the presentation before you insert it
into the presentation. That should keep the link intact.

Be sure to test on the computer you really need to play the presentation on
to be sure it will work.

But I will confess that I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "I am
inserting the media file as through windows media player." How exactly are
you inserting your video file?

I always recommend using the pack and go, just to make sure all the link
files are included.

Yes, that's another way to resolve links. And a good one at that. :-)

I have seen some presentations which simply don't want to Pack and Go,
though, so I generally try to start with the files in the same folder.

I am working off a server and that is where the files
are. Should I move them to my computers hard drive to
make the link btwn the two files better?

As long as the clips and the presentation are in the same folder on the
server, they should be okay. But just to be on the safe side, it
wouldn't hurt to put them on your harddrive while you work on the
presentation. You can always put it up on the server when you're
finished.

Also, don't bury the media in other folders within the folder. Just put
the presentation and the media files "loose" in the same folder.

When you burn the CD, you just want to burn the *contents* of the folder
(the PPT file and media clips), not the folder itself.
