We just added an XP machine to our home. We used to have
2 ME mcahines and would share files easily by sneaker
mail. Now we tried to move files to the ME machine from
the XP machine and the ME machine now reads the file
names on a number of them all in caps. EX: on the Xp
machine the file is named a05.htm on the ME machine it is
read, even on the zip or the disk as A05.HTM. Any
thoughts?

Windows is not UNIX, so Windows is not case sensative. Your can "dir
A05.HTM" and "dir a05.htm" and you'll get the same result. If your really
worried about it, why don't you network the systems together instead of
using "Sneaker Net". This way you can "share" the files. If that's not an
option, create a zip file. BTW, does the file look the same when you put
the floppy back into the WIN XP machine?

Yes it reads it as a05.htm when back in the XP machine.
The problem is that we try to keep both machines with the
same files for FTP purposes to UNIX servers so you can
see the problem. When hundreds of files get changed it's
a pain. We have noticed that the files that changed are
all short, seems to be under 8 characters. We suspect
some sort of DOS issue. Do you know about something
called prettypath? Also does not change html or shtml
files, once again leading us to suspect a DOS issue.
All thoughts greatly appreciated. Thank you for oyour
input.
