Can anyone help? I'm new to Movie Maker. Having trimmed + edited clips in the
timeline / storyboard, I can't seem to then paste the new version back into
my collection for further use. How do I do this? Am I missing something
obvious?

Thanks

I would suggest putting a single clip on the time line, trim it to exactly
waht you want then save the movie project as a WMV file then import it back
in to Movie Maker. What you need to understand is when you are trimming a
clip in your timeline you are not actually modifying the original clip in any
way. All you are doing is telling MM (when rendering your movie) is to
include that clip from the starting and end points you provided with your
editing. Your movie project is really just a list of things you want to do
with video clips, audio clips, pictures, etc... When you finish your movie
and tell MM to save it to a file it gather all the files (clip,
pictures,etc..) the perform the edits that you requested, then save your
movie. The original files will not be changed in any way. With that in mind I
suggest you leave the clips as they are because you might want to use
different parts for different movies.
