Copying E-mail from OE to Outlook 2007

I'm new to discussion groups so please overlook it if I don't present the
question as clearly as needed.

I need to move E-mail messages from Outlook Express 6 on a Win XP computer
to Outlook 7 on a Win 7 computer. I found a Microsoft article on this, but
the procedure required opening OE on the target computer, and Outlook Express
is not installed on Win 7 machines. I presume the online article assumed the
target machine was running Vista.

If possible I'd like to keep the same mail folders as I will use the same
topics on the new computer.

Any help the community can provide will be greatly appreciated.

The recommendation is actually to EXPORT from OE as Outlook's Import
process is imperfect.

Install Outlook 2007 trial on the XP machine, export the messages from
your OE (File -> Export). Take the resulting PST to the Windows 7
computer and open it from within Outlook 2007.

The OP does not have OE installed. He is using Windows 7 and obviously the method
you posted will not work. What he has is the *.dbx files which he has probably saved
on a media. What I posted should sort his issue

The link supplied by Brian looks like it will solve my problem. It appears
that those of us with Win 7 will have to install Windows Live Mail as part of
the process of bringing in the old Outlook Express files.

As soon as I have the time, I'll give the process a try and report on this
thread how it worked out.

Thanks for the help - much appreciated.
