I am trying to copy data from Excel into an existing formatted table in a
PowerPoint presentation. I need to update this PowerPoint presentation every
month, without having to reformat my table each time I copy in new data from
Excel. Is there any easy way to copy the data in from Excel into the existing
table so that I don't have to keep reformatting it each month?

Paste special options will always lose some degree of the excel formatting.
One option would be to set up your table in excel to look like you want your
ppt table to, and paste it over as a link.

i'm trying to do the same thing, but powerpoint has much more robust
formatting capability ... and lets face it, it's good to look good. i have
many very professional looking tables, and need to update monthly.
so, once the table is created and formatted, how can I get the data updated.
if I paste in as an excel table, formatting is drastically restricted.

Exactly! I can't believe there isn't a way to more easily transfer data from
Excel (where I do all the calculations) to PowerPoint (where I have formatted
tables that look FAR better in PowerPoint). each month. I have tried various
options of Paste Special, to get the data into my PowerPoint tables, and the
formatting is always so messed up it is faster for me to manually retype the
numbers into PowerPoint which just seems so backwards.
