copying cd

can't copy . Have been able to for moths but today keep
getting message to insert cd : there is a cd in there.
Have tried different ones, have cleaned up disc space ,
have deleted old files....just can't seem to get to point
where it registers that there is a cd there to copy
from. Help

does this only happen in media player or does it happen with a data cd also?
if it is just media player, you might need to reinstall it. if it is
happening with data cds too, then your cd drive might be bad.
