Copying CD onto Media play

With most CDs when I put them in the PC they automatically show all tracks
etc on the media player so I have the option to copy. Several of my newer
CDs do not show on the player and I can't copy them. I just get a small
pink/blue box to play the music etc. What am I doing wrong and how do I get
around it.
I want to copy the CDs on to media player so I can then download to my MP3.
