Anyone know any tools that will copy a hard drive contents as they are on the disk?

Looking for two solutions really. One that will copy the contents as they are but can install files to the source drive and a second solution that will copy the contents of the drive to another drive but not changing or installing any files to the source drive.

Sad i know but i've got a feeling this is gonna be one of my exam questions poping up on Tuesday afternoon :o  Went and asked the guy what was gonna be in the exam and he says it will be showing are knowledge of the subject and not what is in his lecture notes.

We usually send people with 'homework' off to find their own solutions ...

They call it 'cloning' and all hard drive manufacturers have 'software' in their respective tools that will do the job.

There are other alternatives on the market ... most of them you have to pay for. :D

Acronis True Image will do all of that as long as you don't have a RAID 0 setup.

Good software, costs about twenty quid, does everything it says on the tin :)
