Good Day,

I am creating a FTP server on a stand alone system running 2K3 SP1. We have
a domain with AD but for added security I wanted the FTP server off of our
domain. My issue with this option, if I go along with it is that I will
have to add every user to my stand alone server. Since I need to give
access to various users to folders on the new FTP server (Graphics House)

Our old server was on the domain and all I had to do was add the user to a
group that I created. Give the group rights, map a drive and they were able
to get in.

With the new method, I just don't know a way to get that info (user
accounts) over on to the new system with out putting the system on the
domain or manual entering every users.

If anybody has or knows a way to do this I could use a little help.

Thanks

Hi Adam,

You are not trying to access resource in a workgroup. Therefore, you have
to use the local user accounts in the stand-alone Windows Server 2003.

As a simple way, you can create a universal account which can be used by
everyone. If you do want to identify every user, I'm afraid you have to add
it in the stand-alone Windows Server 2003 manually. It is by design.

Thanks.
