Hi all, I'm in a situation of replacing my W2000 DC. I've
created another CD with the same computer name (without
plugging it to network). I want to copy the users
accounta and setting to the new DC. HOWTO do so??

Anyone can help??

You can't do that. Names mean nothing in W2K (exception: dns name
resolution). A user account, a computer account and a domain are nothing but
SIDs in the W2K world.

You can even run 2 DCs in 2 domains... all having the same names(netbios and
fqdn). While the DNS server(s) will fail to resolve, the 2 domains are
entirely unique because of their SIDs and no replication is required nor
processed.

To replace a DC properly, one promotes a member server into an existing
domain. This generates a second replicating DC. The 5 FSMO roles must then
be transferred from old DC to new DC. After verifying the the promotion and
transfers worked as expected: demote old DC. The domain database is
replicated to new DC.
