I don't think so but I don't see what dual boot / partitions has do
do with it.

My system has 2 OSs and i can access windows 2000 server partitions
from another OS , so i think can copy the windows 2000 server system
data from there ? If not what can do to save the system state data
since i can;t boot into even safe mode or whatever mode as my lsass.exe
corrupted.

Yes, while one OS is inactive none of its files are locked and all
are fully accessible from the other OS. As far as saving its system
state is concerned: AFAIK it comprises the various registry files
and probably some executables too.

I now wonder what you would do with a saved system state. If
you believe that lsass.exe is corrupted then perhaps replacing it
from the other installation will fix the problem.

I've been reparing not reinstall but still same. It prompted me to
login to directory restore mode, but i can;t login even with correct
password. i think lsass.exe corrupted. Even safe mode command prompt
either. So only way i think is this way. Any other alternative to save
all my AD and other settings ?

The usual way to repair a failed installation is to boot the
machine with a Win2000 CD and select "Repair" when
prompted. There is no password challenge when doing this.

Yes repair without any problem but when it reboots into windows, when
prompting logon it will display that lsass.exe missing and pls boot
into directory restore mode. Even i boot into console mode, it can't
recognise the password. Any idea ?

Hi, i can't even login the windows from normal boot. I only get login
when i boot using safe mode and safe mode command prompt. Can access it
from other partition ?

Of course you can. Under Win2000 you use regedt32 to load
a hive from an off-line registry whereas under WinXP it's
regedit.exe.

It's probably time to ditch the flawed version of Windows
and start afresh. This might be a good time to use a proper
boot manager, e.g. XOSL, unless you use one already.
