I wish to copy the Settings of one User to another User.
Is this possible?

Use the built in help and support (or Google) to look up 'Files and Settings
Transfer Wizard'...

I read the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard".

It seems intended for moving settings from one computer to a new one.

I am dealing with just one computer. I wish to have two users on the one
computer - one with Administrator privileges and one without (for browsing).
I wish each account to have the same Settings.

Is there a way to do this?

Although its intention was to move a user from one system to another - it
works just fine to move the settings/files from one account to another. So
you can have your two seperate accounts start out (at a moment in time)
exactly the same using it.

It seems you may want more than what you originally stated...
Do you want these accounts to be setup the same 'all the time'?
Synchronized?
So that one account has the same desktop/start menu/file & folder settings
as the other user?

If so - it can be pulled off by creating a new limited user account...
- Log in as that account.
- Log out and log in as the administrative level account.
- Give full permissions (file/folder) on your Documents and Settings user
folder and all sub-folders and files (for the current user) to the new
limited account.
- Change the registry so that the new user you just created (the limited
one) has a profile that points to the current user's profile directory.
You'll find that here...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

- Reboot for good measure.

Now when you log in as either user - their desktop, look/feel is exactly the
same - but one is a limited account (with full access only to the profile
itself) and the other is an adminstrative user. To be honest - you should
run as a limited user at *all times* - not just when browsing the
Internet... But that is your choice.

Thank you, Shenan.

I followed your instructions. There was one slight problem in implementing
them. The Registry would not let me change the new user's profile to point to
the current user's profile. I had to log on to another Administrator account
to perform this. So that was done ok.

But, when I rebooted as the new user the system said there was a problem
with the profile. Also, the settings were not identical to the administrative
account that was being pointed to. For example, the Office Tool Bar was
missing. The screen icons were identical alright.

I think I am asking too much for an exact replica so what I will do is stay
with one account that is set up exactly as I want it and just remove the
Administrator privilege for daily use and only add the Administrator
privilege (using another Administrator account) when I need it. In this way
the 'look' of the screen will always be the same.

Thank you for your effort which I think was successful.
