copy pics to cd

I am trying to save my pics to a cd but it keeps coming up with a window
saying "Windows encountered a problem when trying to copy this file". There
is no indication as to what the problem actually is. What is causing this.
The disk that I am using is "DVD-R" could this be the issue?

If you have a separate burning program....
Nero, Roxio, InterVideo, etc...I would
suggest using it to burn your DVD.

Does this only occur on certain files? Are
you running the Media Center Edition of
WinXP?

I don't know the answer to your question

CD-R (and DVR +/- R) originally could only be written to once, but now can be
added to (but not updated). However once you "close" the CD/DVD you can no
longer add files and the disk is truly read only.
