Copy paste

This might sound simple but i am having trouble doing copy and paste from
one place to another in Win XP.. neither Ctrl C and V nor right clicking and
using COPY PASTE works, paste option just doesn't come up when i go to
destination folder.
What is happening ? Help needed, neil
 
this doesn't happen always... in some files at random when i copy it and go
to some destination it just doesn't paste their... most files i can copy
paste but some files this problem happens.. is their some setting i am
missing...
