Copy Issue

I just loaded Microsoft Office onto my Vista machine. I am working on a
training presentation. The problem is when I try to use multiple select by
way of ctrl>>left-click it copies everything I select. Is there any way to
turn this off?

Although Ctrl+click will work to select the slightest movement you make will
selecting will copy the object. You can see that as there is a plus next to
the object you ctrl+click.
I would suggest using shift+click to select. Or activate the selection task
pane. It's on the Home tab, editing group, select button, selection pane.
 
Is this a Windows setting? I have been using powerpoint for three years now
and I never had a problem with it doing this while using XP.
 
I'm having this problem as well with Vista. I've never had that problem with
XP and just got my Vista machine as well. anyone else have any pointer?

And which home tab are you referring to?
