Copy in Sent Mail folder?

It just struck me to wonder: if a virus sends out copies of itself from a
"victim's" computer to addresses in one's Address Book, then does it delete
the entry in the Sent Mail folder or is there a copy left there? Can the
"victim" see the messages that have been sent by the virus?

In one word......NO. There are no copies in the Sent folder to alert you.
It has its own engine, I believe. No up on that techie part. (G)

However, I do remember that Spanska's Happy99 created a folder to list who
it went to...

There =never was= a copy there .. most recent viruses have their own
SMTP mail sending system built in, they don't rely on whatever you
usually use. Your ISP will have a log of the email going through, but
there won't be anything in your usual mail places on your PC (you might
find some evidence in modem and firewall logs though).

It depends on the virus. Some use your e-mail client to send
out mail - but most don't. Of those that do, I am sure that the
same "some do and some don't" applies to the deletion of the
copy in 'sent items'.
