Copy format between charts in PowerPoint

Hi.
In Excel it's possible to copy/past format (through Paste Special) between
charts. However I do not find the same possibility in Power Point charts.

Do anyone know how I can easily transferr a chart design
(color/font/borderts etc) between charts in Power Point (2003).

You can set a chart as a Default chart so that each time you create a new
chart it uses that same design. Is that what you're looking for? Here's how:

Click on the chart that you want to become your default design (open to edit)
Go to Chart > Chart Type >Custom Types
Click on Set as Default Chart
Name the chart
Hit OK

BEFORE you do this, make sure your font auto scale is turned off (in edit
mode, go to Font for all text, uncheck auto scale).

I'm sure this will help me on new slides/charts, but can I replace design on
old charts through this? Say I have some 10 charts in a presentation, and
whant to replace the design on all of them to a new custom type design.

Anyway. Great hint, and I'll try to define my own Custom type chart
design....

There's a simple, if a bit roundabout way to do this.

Create a new chart formatted the way you want it (e.g. using Sandy's default
chart tip).

Go to your original chart, doubleclick it and select all the data in the data
sheet. Press Ctrl+C to copy it.

Go to the new chart, activate it, select the cells you want to put your data
into and press Ctrl+V to paste.

In other words, you're not going to reformat an existing chart, you're going to
transfer its data into a new properly formatted chart.
