Copy floppy to Word?

How do I copy a file from a floppy disk to become a MS
Word 97 document?
 
You can copy a file using the Explorer, same as any other file. But it won't
'become' a Word document unless Word can open it (experiment with the
options in the Files of Type list on Word's Open dialog). Which has nothing
to do with it coming from a floppy.
