copy files

I assume you wish to copy the program from a cd-rom to your hard drive.

You will need to know how the folder organisation system works on your hard
drive to do this. Also you will need to know about the files you wish to
copy eg. Are they a setup program, do they require any other directorys to
be copied also etc.

Most novice users who save everything in my documents and dont know what a
drive is will need much more knowledge about files and folders.

Generally you can just open my computer and browse to the files on the cdrom
/ disk. While holding down the ctrl button, click on every file you need to
copy and go edit > copy. Then browse to the directory on your hard drive to
where you wish to put them. Go edit > paste.

If you are trying to install a program from a cd that you just purchased,
click start > run and type D:\setup or D:\install or D:\autorun
Replace D: with your drive letter (a for floppy disk or d/e/f for cdrom. )
There are always instructions on the back of the cd cover or inside the pull
out page that will tell you how to do this.
