Hi all,
Is it possible to copy and then rename a text file? I have a file named "A"
that I would like to copy and then rename "B", so "A" is still intact and "B"
is the back up?
Help is appreciated, thanks!

You've reached a newsgroup dedicated to supporting the using of Microsoft
Access, the relational database.

What you describe sounds like a "Windows"-specific question. Try posting in
a Windows-related newsgroup.

(Have you tried using copy/paste in Windows Explorer?)

Good luck!

If you're wanting to do this using VBA, there's a built-in FileCopy
statement:

FileCopy "C:\SomeFolder\A.txt", "C:\SomeFolder\B.txt"

Sorry, I guess it would have been beneficial to include that I would like to
know how to do this within Microsoft Access, but I assumed by me posting in
the Access forum that this would be known. I guess there is a good number of
people who do this and I apologize for the confusion. While I was creating a
form with a button to accomplish this, it did not seem like a form question
as the command or code would be more intense (I thought?), which is why I
came to the external data area. Should I have posted in another category?

Thank you! Just what I needed!

I apologize for being "dense". There are so many posts that don't contain
enough information to identify the application or even the problem that I
may have jumped the gun and mis-interpreted...

Glad you got a solution!

Fedor is eager, but he needs to consistently oppose major opponents, and in past period he hasn't through that. But in any event, it now silkroad gold[/url:1qqwukil] appears credible that Fedor give promote for Envisage on New Assemblage's Eve, and not for Affliction in January. So where does Affliction go fro (http://www.ugamegold.com/silkroad-online-gold/:1qqwukil)?
