I have Win XP Pro, and I want to copy and paste a folder
(and its contents) located on a server to my computer.

I select a folder, copy, then paste to my computer, and
say "yes" to replace the files containing the same name.
The problem is if I have file1 and file2 on my computer,
and I'm pasting a folder with file1, file2 is still
there. Basically I want to overwrite folders - not just
overwrite same-name files.

It seems like this didn't happen before with previous
versions of Windows. Is the only way around this to
delete the folder I want to overwrite?

Thanks

I don't have the answer but I have a similar problem which
I overcame in W98 using the "Deltree" command. This seems
not to be available in XP, amongst many useful features
deleted and unuseful additions and changes. I have posted
the question. If a workaround turns up I'll let you know.
