Hi,

Is there any way of copying and pasting commands if you
are doing the same one again and again?

Thanks

Use the up and down arrows on your keyboard to recall previous commands.

What version of 'DOS' are you using? You need to enabled doskey

type doskey

after that you'll be able to use the arrows.

What version are *you* using? This is a w2k newsgroup, so if our o/s's are
on topic doskey is not required.

To the OP: it is also possible to use cut and paste from other applications.
For example, copy the URL from the address field in your browser, alt-tab to
a command prompt window, type "start ", then type alt-space, "E"m then "P".

You can similarly drag and drop the name of a file or folder from windows
explorer onto the command prompt window to "type" it into the command line.
I sometimes type "pushd ", for example, then drag the folder I want to
change to onto the command prompt window.

Type cmd in Start Run, type command in cmd, type dir, press up arrow key - nothing happens. It sounds like he's using command.com not cmd.exe.
