Copy and paste images from PPT 2007

Hi There,

I often copy and resize images etc from existing presentations. I have found
with Office 2007b1 that I can not copy (ctrl+c) an image from any office
application and paste it into an other program like Paint shop pro or
Photoshop. In fact Office 07 seems to treat images differently than in
previous versions of office so that they are not transferable.

For example today I had to open a presentation in ppt 97 (the other version
on my machine!) so I could drag and drop images from presentation to image
editor for resizing and resampling.

Is there a reason for this deficiency? Are you planning on fixing it in
upcoming releases?

Cheers,

Adam

It's a good question, Adam. I was just wondering a couple of weeks ago about
PPT 2007's default paste behavior for images from other programs.

Installing Photoshop on my virtual pc with Office 2007 is on my list of
things to do to check out. I'll file bug reports if anything acts
differently in 2003 than in 2007. I wouldn't have thought about drag and
drop *from* PPT into the photo editor, though, because I just never do that.
And I just dragged and dropped here from PPT 2003 to Photoshop CS2, and I
gotta tell you, the image quality just sucks, although copy/paste from PPT
to PS is not bad at all.

I'll play around and see what PPT 2007 does in Beta 2 Technical Refresh when
that comes out You might be interested to know that 2003 and 2007 both have
a "save as picture" option on right-click. And you might use the Send a
Smile tool to send your own bug report to Microsoft.
