I am trying to copy a very large database that is in read only in Access 2003
and then paste that into a new database. The problem is that when I open a
new database it is not large enough to hold the copy. Any suggestions.

I may be missing something...

You have an old database in Access 2003 that works (read-only).

When you try to copy/paste, Access tells you that there's not enough room
for it?!

Which version are you copying/pasting to?

How are you trying to copy/paste?

What error message/number do you receive, if any?

It is all in Access 2003. I receive no error message.
To copy; I highlighted the entire database and copied, then, in the new
database I highlighted the entire database and then pasted.

The problem is when I paste, the resulting database is only the size of the
"new" database that I open. Therefore, I have less than a tenth of the
database that I am trying to copy and paste.

The new database does not expand to Accommodate the size of the paste.

Sorry, I'm still not following.

The way I "copy" a database (by the way, this may be a terminology issue --
in Access, a "database" is NOT a table, it is the entire .mdb file) is to
copy the .mdb file using Windows Explorer and paste it where I want it, with
a new name, if necessary.

What are you doing?

No, I am sorry. I have a database with 3 tables in it. I need to sort and
delete in those tables to create a new table with that information, yet, they
initial tables are read only. I was trying to copy an entire table of
information and paste it into a new database/table in order that I could
sort, delete, or what ever else I needed to do to get the end report needed
from that data.
The table has 61191 records or lines in it. So, I certainly do not want to
manually do the above mentioned.
I hope that I am clear enough with what I am trying to do and I appreciate
your continued help.

Rather than try to use Copy/Paste, consider using an Append Query.

(and you have my curiosity up -- why are you taking data out of one table
and putting it into another? If the ONLY reason has to do with sorting, you
can't and won't be able to use a new table for that.)
