Hi,
I need to copy the whole content of my laptop (IBM T30) to another
laptop (IBM T23).
Please, could you recommend me a software to do it?

Someone tell me about "Drive Image", but I really don't know it.
Is it a good product? Can I copy all the data icluded the OS from my laptop
to another one that has different mother board and hd?

Thank u in advance
Anna

Do you know what happens when you copy OS from one machine and put in
another one with a different motherboard? What OS, btw?

Probably going to refuse to run due to different disk drivers. Make sure
that you back off to the generic drivers before you make the image. And
you'll have to reactivate, which isn't a major hassle.

Hi,
XP Professional sp1

You should get familiar with MS Sysprep.

For disk imaging, the best are Ghost 8.2 (also 8.0 and older versions) and
Acronis TI 8.0 (better for -nix filesystems).

The best approach is to image both laptops to a network share,
restore first image to a second laptop and verify. If it doesn't work,
put the original image back and work with Sysprep on the first laptop.

You can also do a repair install, booting from the CD, and it will
usually take care of these problems. Definitely better to avoid it in
the first place, though.

Out of interest, why would the newer versions of Ghost be less
acceptable? Asking just because I have a good local deal on a more
recent version (9.0) and my local purchasing options are limited.

Because Ghost 9.0 is not a Ghost product. It is a DriveImage version.
But, as I learned, Norton Ghost 2003 is bundled in.
