Dell PC, SATA drive just went bac. But I have a dual boot set up between
Vista and XP Pro. Is there a utility I can use to copy all the partitions
and data to the new drive?

Yep, any decent imager can do that.

I like True Image.

Many hard drive manufacturers make available a cloning utitlity
downloadable free from their websites for use with their brand of
hard drive. Maxtor/Seagate have such a utility that is a version of
True Image. Future Systems Solutions also has a free v30-day
trial version of their "Casper" utility:

If the drives are exactly the same size, boot a Linux live CD
and run

dd if=/dev/hda of=/dev/hdc bs=1M

(/dev/hda and /dev/hdc assuming the source and target are on
master on the first and second IDE port. Change as needed.)
