I have been trying to learn Access and I am making some good progress(I
think). However, I may have built myself into a box. I have a database of
about 25 tables, 20 some queries, and numerous forms. And have entered much
test data into these tables. I have been reviewing the access help
documentation and can not find a way to move/copy my database file into a
new file(with new name) maintaining the structure/relationships and
eliminating all the test data I have been using.

I have found where I can copy and "paste as" tables one at a time moving
only structure but I think I lose relationships.
Is there anyway I can copy my database without copying the data all at one
time.

Thank You,
Greg

Open a new file and click on file/import. Import all of the objects. Start with tables and select all, then click on the options button and check the relationship box, click on definition only, and what ever else looks appropriate. You can name it the same if you save it to another folder or name it "current name"_new.

I just went through the steps. You will need to save a blank database first and then import the objects.

Linda,
I did what you suggested and it looks like all is well.
Thank You again for your advice

I have been trying to copy the Northwinds database that accompanied the book
"Building Microsoft Access Applications" by John Viescas. I check off
'definition only' but always end up with the original data. Is there an
addiitonal layer of security that prevents me from using the structure?
