Hi all,

RE: Excel 2002 Version 10 (office XP)

I have a spreadsheet with a column of number and in the bottom box is a
total box which was created using the auto sum button. The button with
the sigma symbol on it.

The formula in the box is

=SUM(H5:H9)

This all works but if I want to copy the total and put it in another box
then control-C copy the formula and when I paste it into another box I
get the value zero because it has copied the formula and changed the
references appropriately.

Q1. Is it possible to just copy the value in the box?

Q2. Is it possible to password file so when it is opened no one can
see the contents with out a password? I have been able to protect the
sheet to stop it being edited but this is not what I want.

Thanks

Q1

Copy>Paste Special>Value

To copy a formula hit F2 to edit. Add an apostrophe at beginning of formula
and hit ENTER key.

Formula can be copied and apostrophe removed. Also from original.

Q2

You can password the file so no one can open it without the password.
