OOPS....sorry, I just saw that this isn't saying NTFS, But "raw"..I don't
have a clue!

What is Drive F? A hard drive placed in an external drive
enclosure? Or is it internally mounted? And has Drive F
been partitioned and formatted?

Did you run something like repartitioning software on the drive or have a
vurus? Something has corupted the master file table. There is no fix as far
as I know and you will probably end up having to reformat. Before doing that
try file recovery programs if you want. Also wait and see what others think
but from my own past experiences you stuffed.

My "F" drive (WD 120Gig ntfs) has decided to keep disappearing, but would
comeback on restart...now when I try to access anything on it, or try to
check it, it comes back with the master file corrupt message.. any one help
please ?? Windows XP, Sony Vaio. Thanks

Drives are inexpensive now. Replace the drive, and copy off whatever you
can. Then, remove and re-create the partition on the old drive, format it,
and test it thoroughly before relying on it. If it fails, contact WD
regarding its warranty.

You may need to use recovery software to get data off the drive if the MFT
is corrupt. I've had good results with these tools:

http://www.r-tt.com/

http://www.data-recovery-software.net/

They do have a trial version that will scan the drive and tell you what is
recoverable. And it will save the results of its scan, so if you get the
full-working version, you won't have to rescan - which can take a number of
hours.

Yes, drive F is formatted, and an internal hard drive that's been in use
for about six months, or so, and has a ton of stuff on it that I really
don't want to lose, if possible.
