Nikon's software does not allow multi-sampling with the Coolscan V.
Vuescan, apparently, does. Is this a single pass multi-sampling
function on the Coolscan V? or is it multi-pass multi-sampling? Thank
you, in advance, for your response.

Hello, GregP

I suppose the LS 50 acts more or less same as the LS 40, which does not
support single pass multi-sampling by hardware. Therefore this must be
multi-pass multi-sampling.

Multi-pass multi-scanning seems likely based on the Nikon Coolscan
info in the help file of an old version of VueScan (7.1):

10-bit data from LS-30, 12-bit data from LS-2000

12-bit data from LS-40, 14-bit data from LS-4000

Dust/Scratch removal using infrared channel

Multi-pass multi-scanning on LS-30 and LS-40

Single-pass multi-scanning on LS-2000 and LS-4000

APS adapter supported (press "Eject" to rewind, press again to reload)

Full control over all film adapters

Batch scanning supported

Automatic scanning when film inserted is supported

To use the SF-200 slide feeder, either press "Eject" to feed manually
or set "Device|Auto eject" to "Scan" and "Device|Auto scan" to "Scan
device" to scan in batch mode. Leave "Device|Frame numbers" set to
"1".
