Cool VS 2005 Bug

Hi guys,

Just discovered what appears to be a cool VS 2005 bug. If you enter
any text in the quick find textbox in the 'Standard' toolbar and then
press 'Ctrl + K and then 'Ctrl + N' (make sure the quick find textbox
is focussed when you do this), you'll get a new text file created
named whatever text you entered. Pretty cool...
 
Sure sounds like a feature to me, rather than a bug. It'd be nice if it was
easier to find documentation on the keyboard shortcuts in the MSDN library.

Well its kind of completely illogical. I mean why would you create a
text file named after the selected text in the quick search box???
Also I tried highlighting text from other windows in VS like the code
editing windows (open documents) and the search results windows (Find
Results 1), Output, etc, and using the key combination and it doesn't
work there. So why does it only work with the quick search box's
selected text and not any other area? If this was a feature it would
make sense for it to work in other areas too right, especially since
it makes more sense to have it in those areas too.

But anway who knows, its there in the quicksearch box and it can be
used if required :)

Well, you hit the Ctrl-N ("New") key, don't forget. Presumably you didn't
intend to do a search - you wanted to create something new. How about a
file, then? Not many other possibilities.
