Is there any way with Cool 'N' Quite to change the Temp that the CPU
fan turns on and revs up. I have looked at the PC Probe program and
can not see a way. You can change alarm thresholds etc. Any help would
be greatly accepted.

COOL 'N' QUITE has nothing to do with fan speed it adjust CPU multiplier
which slows the cpu clock speed which uses less power which runs cooler.

Ok when I look at pc prope v2.22.04 on my K8V mother board it shows
the cpu fan running at various speeds. When the cpu temp drops to
around 42C or so it shut down and show 0 then CPU temp rises till it
hits about 53C then fan kicks in again and the CPU temp. drops again
how do I keep this CPU fan running all the time. Help!!!

This maybe caused by Q-FAN, its an ASUS implementation that slows fan speeds
i think. I dont know, cuz I dont use it, I would rather a little noise than
reduce processor life. besides my volume is so loud when playing warcraft 3
I cant hear the fans :).

I would sugguest turning this off.

I finally took the computer cover off and see that the CPU fan is
plugged into the spot marked CPU fan like in manual that came with the
ASUS K8V mother board and when PC Probe shows the fan shutting off it
does. So the ASUS mother board is controlling the CPU fan. Is there
any jumper switch that would make this fan run top speed all the tiime
can not find anything in the ASUS manual for this board.

David, don't they call this Q Fan? Isn't it in the bios?

Yes I finally found out by typing in q-fan in a search engine. Found
out in bios it was enabled so I disabled it and now the CPU fan runs
full speed and the CPU show a temp 32C give or take a few C all the
time so this seems to me to be a better Temp. Like people say between
all the stuff in my house bit of fan noise is nothing. Would much
rather have a cooler CPU.

Thanks again for the help.
