Having some trouble getting the Cool 'n Quiet software working on my
system. When I start the software, I get somewhere from 100-200
windows with the message:
',' is not a valid integer value.
These boxes continue popping up at the rate of three per second for
half a minute until windows kills the process..
I've followed the install-instructions.. Enabled cool'n'quiet in bios,
enabled ACPI 2.0, installed the driver and set power-management to
minimal. All work nicely. It's running the utility that's impossible.
By the by, I've updated all the stuff I can think of as relevant:
- BIOS updated to 1004, though PCProbe reports 1003.027 for some
reason. Can't actually see if this is displayed somewhere during POST
because my screen doesn't have time to synch before BIOS-info is long
gone and entered SATA controller init This doesn't seem to be
listed under the info tab in bios itself either, but I'm assuming the
flash went ok. When I try to run it again, it claims "same version" so
all seems ok..
- Latest 4-in-1s.
- Latest Cool'n'quiet driver+tool from the asus site as opposed to
whatever is on the support CD.
So, any suggestions? I'm betting that I'm doing something stupid,
because I can't seem to find anyone having the same problem anywhere
else.. Which is generally an indication that it's your own fault.. =)
Other than this, btw, the system works perfectly. No problems at all
surprisingly enough, considering I didn't know about the apparent
capacitor problem before I looked here in search of a solution to the
whole Cool'n'Quiet thing.. Guess I lucked out for once
Brief specs:
K8V Deluxe mobo. (BIOS 1004)
Athlon64 3000+
