It was announced here that this functionality was removed from the
predecessor program before the beta was released for unspecified reasons.

Microsoft has also stated that this functionaly might be introduced in a
future beta version. This hasn't happened so far, but I wouldn't lose hope
yet.

Tracking cookies make money for the companies that
collect the information, the ad companies and the sellers
of products. They want to know what sites you view (what
your interests are) so they can deliver targeted
advertising. Microsoft knows removing tracking cookies
hinders this industry and perhaps because they are
sympathetic to this end, have not just jumped in with a
solution.

MS notes that some cookies are good. For instance, if
you have personalized a web page (such as msnbc) and you
delete the cookie then you will need to reenter all the
info to personalize it again because this info is stored
in a cookie.

MS states they are waiting to hear from beta testers on
how to deal with cookies. I say give the user the option
of including cookies in the scan rather than just
omitting them. Let the user choose which web sites to
allow to set cookies.
