Cookies - Where did the go?

When I look for cookies in Administrator, All Users, Current User, or
HP-Administrator I find Cookies folders in Admin and All. But they are empty.

When I so START-RUN-Cookies (or Cookie) I don't find any.

Yet WinCleaner tells me there are 1,100+ cookies. Where are they?

Cookies are simply text files. Try searching for them using the search
utility. Start > Search > "Files or folders". Select the "C:" drive. In the
text box labeled "All or part of the filename" enter *.txt file extension.
In the "Advanced options" select "Search system folders", "Search hidden
files and folders" and "Search subfolders" checkboxes. Click the "Search"
button. You should have them all if they exist. If not WinCleaner is
reporting inaccurately, or considers "cookies" something other than what
they are.

When I did as you suggested, I got 1500+ hits of .txt files. None of them
look like a cookie which I assume would look like "www.anything.com". Am I
missing something here? Shouldn't I be able to search for say,
"www.allstate.com" which is a cookie I need to do business with them?

Cookie files have a filename that is similar to an email address:
(e-mail address removed)_name.com[1].txt

You have to play around with the search criteria. By default they are
located in the
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Cookies folder. You can use the Search
utility to search for them by filtering your search criteria. For example:

To search for all text files use *.txt in the filename textbox. Where the
username is 'Bob Smith' you search for text in files with
Bob Smith@ in the "Word or phrase in the file" textbox. Or you can select
Text documents are the file type and enter "Bob Smith@" in the "All or part
of the filename" textbox. The result should be the same.
