Need TSR program that automatically wipes them
out. Does one
exist for Windows XP ?
I just cleaned out 325 cookies manually after the
grandchildren
left from the Christmas get together.
Thanks !

If you have Firefox, use "cookie culler"
It does not do it automatically, but two clicks of the mouse will do it for you.
If you use any other browser, I have no suggestions for you - perhaps some MSIE
aficionado can help you.

Have a look at CCleaner. http://www.ccleaner.com/
It's small and easy to use. It can be run manually or set to run
(once) on Windows start-up. It deletes the contents of the
Temporary Internet files, cookies, etc.

Make sure that you watch the installation screen carefully and
de-select any items you do not want (like the CCleaner Yahoo
toolbar perhaps?). I also suggest that you de-select the option
to empty the Recycle Bin, as you'll probably prefer to do that
manually, when you're sure you want to!

I've been using it for many months on 98 & XP and am very pleased
with it - especially as it's FREE.

(It also has other sections including a 'registry cleaner' and
program uninstaller but they should only be used if you understand
the implications!)

Don't forget Internet options in the control panel,
You can delete Cookies, Temp files and history also.

You can also set it not accept cookies or to ask first. In this case
the best thing to do from now on if kids are going to use the computer
set it to not accept then reset it after they leave.

I've done that Jerry, but then doing an Explore of
the C:
drive I find cookies and temp files that weren't
deleted
from the Internet/Options.

When I have done that before, everytime you go to
a site it always
comes back and ask a million times if you want to
accept or reject
the cookies. So I gave up and put the security
back to whence it
was. I know that kids would click on Yes all the
time so they would
get their pages to come up. Can't tell you how
many times I saw
Barbie and Hannah Montana in the list. Guess they
are #1 with
the 6-10 yr olds.

Hi, Bubey,
Try Ccleaner as a junk file remover, it does an excellent job.
Another place to try is Start and Search,
Type *.tmp & *.temp.
Highlite the list and delete all of them.

Have fun,
Jerry
