Hi,

If you where asked to find cookies and history files from the hard drive and
print some samples where would you look?

Cookies I already have an idea, even though when i open them i don't see
much information. but History files? where are they stored? does this refer
to the Temporary internet files? or its something else?

regards,

Hi Emmanuel :-)

Well....you don't tell us which version of Windows you are using, so I'll
have to guess.

Cookies:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;260971

History:

First..........

Go to Control Panel>Folder Options>View.
In the Advanced Settings section, select Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Click OK and close Control Panel.

Assuming your program is installed on C:\

For XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local
Settings\History, where USER is the WinXP user account name. Each user
account will have its own folder.

For Windows 2000:
C:\Documents and
Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\History.
Each user will have their own folder under their user name

You can find the History folder in WinME and W98 by doing a Search for
History.

You'll need this free utility to read the History:
History Reader
http://www.spychecker.com/program/historyreader.html
or
IEHistoryView
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/iehv.html

Hope this helps :-)
