The original Acc97 did not have any Access security, thus
I believe, the default of Admin is the user/owner. I have
converted the Acc97 to Acc2k, but am running into the
problem of "you don't have exclusive access to the
database at this time...you may not be able to save
changes". And now I can not save my chnages...1) I have
got the Acc97 and converted it to Acc2k,the I have
added/edited objects and then at some point the Acc2k
starts giving me that "you don't have exclusive..."
message. 2) created a new blank Acc2k and imported all
objects from Acc97 and have developed objects in
Acc2k...after a while the "you don't have exclusive..."
message is issued by the Acc2k Db. I have not touch the
security in Acc2k, this the owner is simply the Admin...I
have read MS write ups about this problem and have had no
solution...thus far...

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks, ron

You can verify this by going to Tools, Security, Permissions and looking at
the Change Owner tab. It will show you who currently owns each object.

Starting with Access 2000, you need to open the database exclusively (File,
Open, Open Exclusive) in order to save any design changes. If you have
multiple users accessing the database, split it into frontend/backend and
make your changes on your copy of the frontend.
