Hi,

I have a large document that I need to convert to a web
page and put on my company's intranet. However, I still
need to maintain it as a word doc separately also. Is
there an easy way to convert all of the current cross-
references in the document to hyperlinks/bookmarks on the
web page? And to convert the table of contents to a set
of hyperlinks?

Thanks,
Amy Lampe

Amy,

....each time you finish the revision, print the document
to a PDF Adobe file. The TOC and cross-references should
all work properly from the PDF file. Then, provide a link
from the web page to the file.

I just don't think there is a way to preserve your links
and cross references in an easy manner from doc to html,
and back again. Am curious to see what other's say.

If you save the document as a Web page, the hyperlinks in the document
(including the TOC) will be converted correctly. That is, the TOC is already
hyperlinked; if you have created the cross-references as hyperlinks (the
"Insert as hyperlink" box is checked by default), they will also be
hyperlinked.

I changed the TOC to hyperlinks, so that works correctly
now when I save it as a web page. However, when I created
all of the cross-references, I did insert them as
hyperlinks using the "Insert as hyperlink" box. When I
click on any of the cross-references in the word doc, it
takes me to the correct spot in the doc. However, when I
save it as a web page, all of the cross-references become
static text. You can't click on any of them. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Amy Lampe

I'm not sure why that would be. It works correctly here in Word 2002.
