I recently purchased MyDVD because I read a 2004 article by Galan Bridgman
which said they were compatable. He made it seem very easy. I printed it out
and tried to follow the directions. One of the 1st things it said to do was
click on "Get Movies". My version doesn't seem to have that choice. From
reading the questions and responses in this discussion group the 2 programs
seem to be compatible, however I can not locate my previously completed
slideshows when I'm in MyDVD. I am assuming they are not in the proper
format. I've read the recommendation to save it as DV-AVI. How do I do
that? I am not super computer literate and this is driving me crazy. Help!

Maybe you only saved your .mswmm project files.

To save in a movie format read the following:

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

Thank you so much. I never noticed the "other settings" option and even if I
had I would not have known what I was looking at. I really appreciate the
quick response. Thank you again.
